Unitex 333 Fine Texture 15L
Unitex Uni-Trowel 333 Fine Texture 15L
Size: 15L pail
Coverage:
Fine: 9-10 m2
Suitable over: Unitex Specialty Renders
Apply with: Trowel
Safe Use: Refer to the MSDS
As the name implies, this range of Unitex Textured Finishes is designed for trowel application. The products in the Uni-Trowel Décor™ range are applied as a single coat, with the exception of the finer finishes (146 and 333) which due to substrate and or weather conditions, may require an additional wet on wet coat. Unitex Applied Texture Finishes are acrylic-bound textured coatings designed for decorating interior and exterior walls. Unitex Applied Texture Finishes are suitable for use over surfaces prepared with Render from the Unitex Specialty Renders range. A one coat application offers a long life heavy duty coating. Fine texture coats, i.e. Unitex 146, may require wet on wet two coats. The majority of our Finishes are ready-to-use, water-based products. Unitex Applied Texture Finishes are ideal for commercial and residential exterior walls. Due to the strong binding power of the acrylic, an impact-resistant coating results. The surface prevents scuffing and is able to withstand hard knocks. Uni-Trowel Décor range are available pre-coloured in 15ltr pails, they contain quality graded fine mineral components and aggregates, together with non-absorbent extenders bound by a well-proven acrylic co-polymer. Coverage rates vary considerably with the surface condition and absorption effect. Typical coverage rates are 6 -10m² per pail. There are several grades of Uni-Trowel Décor.
Biological Resistance
Resistance to attack from bacteria and fungi is provided. This product being a water based acrylic system offers safe handling and low toxicity properties. Dirt, grime and dust on the surface of coatings will act as seed beds for bacterial attack, therefore cleaning and maintenance of your coating is essential to hinder bacterial and fungal attack.Fire Resistance The full Unitex coating system when subjected to the Early Fire Hazard Tests – Australian Standard AS1530.3:1999 meets the strictest standards.
Water Resistance
The coating, even at exceptionally high build, is formulated with a water vapour permeability factor to allow water vapour from the substrate to leave unhindered and to rainproof the exterior. Rising damp and elevated levels of moisture in the substrate will damage, and possibly delaminate, the surface coating. Please ensure that damp coursing the substrate is in place and prior test moisture content with a moisture meter (maximum 12% WME is allowed) (Builder responsibility).Colour
The pigmentation is completely integrated during the manufacturing process, which means colour through the entire film thickness. Applied Finishes are available in a practically unlimited range of full colour to pastel shades. Please contact Unitex for the full range of colours available.
Note: Some deep tones cannot be supplied in applied finishes. Contact Unitex for your specific solution. All colours will fade to some degree with time in exterior systems. Do not apply pigmented texture coats over fresh and or not fully cured renders as efflorescent damage (white blotching) may occur. Each pail has a label with the unique code identifying the particular texture type, colour and batch number. This coding ensures that if you require additional product (say to finish off a job), Unitex can match the texture and colour to the original. Note: Conditions on site may change and therefore colour outcome may be different when applied under varying weather conditions. It is advisable always order 1 or 2 more pails than are required for the job. The pails have a strong sealed lid to prevent spillage if they should tip over before opening. Even after opening the lid still fits tightly enough when re-sealing to prevent contamination of the remaining product. The product must be protected from heat and cold during transit and storage.Application Details
A minimum of 72 hours, under ideal temperate conditions, is required for through-dry (and cure) of the render, when the surface is trough dry the Unitex Textured Finish coat may be applied. Dry is measured to be less than 12% WME (Wood Moisture Equivalent) where measured on a Protimeter® Moisture Meter. The substrate must be clean before applying the Finish coat. Any crumbling, loose or damaged substrate render must be removed and the surface patched and made good prior to coating. All surfaces must be free of grease, oils, dirt and dust. Pre-painted surfaces must have flaking paint wire brushed back to a sound substrate. Unitex recommends a base coat of a pigmented Unitex Uni-Substrate Sealer (2 coats) over old renders prior to application of the surface finishes. If multi coats are desired then a minimum of 72 hours between each coat is required. All Unitex Applied Texture Finishes are designed to overcoat Unitex Render from our specialty render range. See Unitex Renders sections for information on suitable base render to use. Application should not be carried out under excessively cold conditions (below 7 °C) or in hot windy conditions (above 32°C).Site
Unitex strongly advises sign off on all coating systems. Always provide the Builder and Designer with a site texture sample of minimum 2m², finish and colour for written approval nominated the Unitex specified system.wettrades.com

Unitex® Uni-Dry Cote® BBR is specially formulated to be a strongly-adherent render on the pre-coated Unitex Uni-Base Board. Together with the other Unitex® components, Unitex® Uni-Dry Cote® BBR is an integral part of the Uni-Base Board™ external insulating cladding system; another member of the Uni-EIFS™ range. Unitex® Uni-Dry Cote® BBR is trowel-applied and suitable for a one-coat or two-coat application on Uni-Base Board™.
Unitex® Uni-Dry Cote® BBR is a cement-based polymer modified, high performance water resistant and adhesion promoting render system. This product is workable at thicknesses up to approximately 5-10mm per pass.
Uni-Dry Cote® BBR is supplied in ready-to-use 8.5kg bags.
Approximate coverage per bag is 1.5-2m².
Unitex® Uni-Dry Cote® BBR, when dry and fully cured, is over coated with any of the range of Unitex® Roll, Trowel or Brush Applied Texture coating systems. This completes the Uni-Base Board™ insulating system, from the Uni-EIFS™ range.
BBR (Base Board Render 8.5kg) is approved for use over Unitex supplied Uni-IB Board (full reinforcing mesh 160GSM incorporated), but is not accredited or tested to conform to the NCC under CodeMark and BRANZ. For a fully accredited and Unitex warranted system, the only option is the Unitex Base Board System, installed as per the Unitex Base Board Technical Manuals.
BBR (Base Board Render 8.5kg) is approved by Unitex for use over suitable masonry surfaces within a complete Unitex coatings system (i.e. base preparation coat, filler levelling coat/s, top finishing coats)
Condition of Substrate
Before application of any render the surface of the substrate must be clean, dry and free of any debris. This means that any loose or damaged substrate must be removed, or patched and made good, prior to application of the base render.
The substrate surface must be cleaned free of any grease, oils, scaling laitance, efflorescence, form-oil compounds, mould, fungi, rust, dirt, dust or any other foreign matter.
It is the responsibility of the Builder or Head Contractor to make good any substrate before the render is applied. Contact Unitex for advice or site visit by our representatives.
Adequate expansion joints are required to minimise cracking on the surface of the render. Location of the expansion joints is also the responsibility of the Builder or Head Contractor. Unitex® recommends expansion joints to every elevation and between different substrates, to allow for building movements and or stresses. Ideally, expansion joints should be at all penetrations to wall surface.
If such expansion joints are not provided by the Builder or Head Contractor, cracking due to movement of the substrate may occur. This is in no way indicative of faulty material. Rather it indicates sub-standard building practice.
Adding Water
Uni-Dry Cote® Render™ products are dry powder-based products. This means that you are getting a 100% active product. All that is required is for clean water to be mixed in, on site, immediately prior to application to the substrate.
The recommended starting point is to add approx. 25% by volume, (based on the amount of powder render to be used), of water into a clean container. Then slowly add the powder, with drill mixing, until the desired slump (consistency) is achieved.
Unitex® Uni-Dry Cote® BBR should be left a minimum 72 hours after application and wait until fully cured before overcoating with a texture from the Unitex Applied Finishes range.

Unitex® Polymer Render is a trowel-applied acrylic filling and levelling compound, suitable for application on dry, non-porous and difficult surfaces. Unitex® Polymer Render is also used for patching, levelling, skim coating and restoration of damaged surfaces. Unitex® Polymer Render is the strongest adhering render available from the Unitex® range of speciality render products.
Unitex® Polymer Render is designed for use over FRC sheeting as a levelling preparation skim coat and is trowel applied prior to over coating with Texture from the Unitex Applied Finishes range.
Unitex® Polymer Render is supplied in 15 litre sealed pails and is drill mixed (Ribbon Blade) with 5-10% cement added immediately prior to its application. Unitex® Polymer Render is also available in ready-to-use 19kg bags, see mixing guide below for consistent quality.
Approximate coverage per pail or bag is 8-10m² (over reasonably level FRC sheeting).
Direct from the pail, Unitex® Polymer Render can be used internally up to a depth of 3 mm and externally up to a depth of 5 mm. Adding 5-10% cement allows for greater depths of patching and rendering. Added cement amount may vary to allow for faster setting and rain proofing time.
Once the Unitex® Polymer Render is on the wall it must be trowel finished with speed immediately, as this type of modified render tends to dry from the surface first. Unitex® Polymer Render is not recommended for application where coating thicknesses greater than 5 mm are required.
Note: All Unitex® Render products are designed to be over coated with a Unitex® Applied Texture and two coats of Uni-Flex PTC™.

Add water, Mix & Apply
Unitex Uni-Dry Cote® unique powder finishes are dry powder-based products. They are a cement modified, polymer-based blend of fine marble, quality-graded mineral and polymeric additives to provide a 100% active product. On-site, all that has to be added is water to provide a ready-to-apply finish.
Unitex Applied Texture Finishes are polymer/mineral bound textured coatings designed for decorating interior and exterior walls. Unitex Applied Texture Finishes are suitable for use over surfaces prepared with render from the Unitex Specialty Renders range. A one coat application offers a long-life, heavy-duty coating.
Unitex Applied Texture Finishes are ideal for commercial and residential exterior walls. Due to the strong binding power of the acrylic, an impact resistant coating results. The surface prevents scuffing and is able to withstand hard knocks.
Unitex Uni-Dry Cote® Powder Finishes are supplied in 20kg multi-walled paper sacks. They contain quality graded fine mineral components and aggregates, together with non-absorbent extenders bound by a well-proven polymer system. Typical coverage is 8-12m² per bag.
There are four grades of Unitex Uni-Dry Cote®.
In order, from coarsest to finest, they are;
Unitex 855 – Medium Towel Finish
Unitex 846 – Fine Trowel Finish
Uni-Cote Dry Powder Finishes:
Biological Resistance
Resistance to attack from bacteria and fungi is provided. This product being a cement modified water based polymer system offers safe handling and low toxicity properties. Dirt, grime and dust on the surface of coatings will act as seed beds for bacterial attack, therefore cleaning and maintenance of your coating is essential to hinder bacterial and fungal attack.
Fire Resistance
The full Unitex coating system when subjected to the Early Fire Hazard Tests – Australian Standard AS1530.3:1999 meets the strictest standards.
Water Resistance
The coating, even at exceptionally high build, is formulated with a water vapour permeability factor to rainproof the exterior and allow water vapour from the substrate to leave unhindered. Rising damp and elevated levels of moisture in the substrate will damage, and possibly delaminate, the surface coating. Please ensure that damp coursing the substrate is in place and prior test moisture content with a moisture meter (maximum 12% WME is allowed) (Builder responsibility).
Colour
The Unitex Uni-Dry Cote® Powder Finishes are not pigmented products. They dry on the surface to a ‘cement-off-white’ colour. The desired topcoat colour is achieved by application of a pigmented protective membrane such as Unitex Uni-PTC for a matt surface effect or Unitex Uni-Flex Membrane for a satin surface finish.
Application Details
A minimum of 72 hours, under ideal temperate conditions, is required for through-dry (and cure) of the render, when the surface is through dry the Unitex Textured Finish coat may be applied. Unitex recommends a base coat of a pigmented Unitex Uni-Substrate Sealer (2 coats) over renders prior to application of the surface finishes.
If multi coats are desired then a minimum of 72 hours between each coat is required.
All Unitex Applied Texture Finishes are designed to overcoat Unitex Render from our specialty render range. See Unitex Renders sections for information on suitable base render to use. Unitex Uni-Dry Cote® Powders, when through dry and cured, are to be over coated with two coats of a Unitex Uni-PTC Protective Membrane.
Application should not be carried out under excessively cold conditions (below 7 °C) or in hot windy conditions (above 32°C).
Guide to Good Mixing Consistency
-
Add the contents of the bag slowly to 4 litres of water (25% volume of entire bag) with vigorous drill mixing to ensure a lump free render of required slump. Allow to stand for 5-10 minutes and re-whip with mixer to allow efficient wetting and ideal application consistency.
-
The mix can be later water thinned to required viscosity within 1 hour of initial mixing.
-
Ensure wall surface is stable, clean, dry and free of dust, etc prior to application.
Site
Unitex strongly advises sign off on all coating systems. Always provide the Builder and Designer with a site texture sample of minimum 2m², finish and colour for written approval nominated the Unitex specified system.
